The Home Vet is a mobile, in-home veterinary practice based in Miami, FL, serving Miami-Dade County. Founded in 2020, the practice delivers full-service veterinary care at home to reduce the stress of clinic visits. The team is led by veterinarian Dr. Kevin Guzman, a Miami native and University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine graduate, supported by Office Manager and Lead Technician Anthony Mateo, who has over a decade of veterinary experience.
Services include routine wellness and sick visits; evaluations for dermatology, dental, gastrointestinal, respiratory, orthopedic, ophthalmic, urinary, and behavioral concerns; diagnostics through a reference laboratory, microscopy/pathology, and imaging, including radiography and advanced imaging such as ultrasound and CT. Surgical care includes spay/neuter and other soft-tissue procedures, dental cleanings and extractions, tumor and mass removals, and microchip implantation. Preventive care covers vaccinations, parasite medications, and travel health documentation for domestic and international trips, including USDA VEHCS endorsements. End-of-life services include humane in-home euthanasia, hospice care, and coordination of private or communal cremation.
Appointments are typically scheduled about a week in advance, with earlier planning recommended for travel certificates; limited same-day visits may be available. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
